Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche 2014

Brands Hatch Porsche Festival was a great success with over 6,000 people attending what was a superb display of cars and racing action from the final 3 rounds of the Porsche Club Championship.

Our congratulations must go out to both Pete Morris, in his 996 Carrera 2, the over all Class 1 and 2014 PCGB Championship Winner, and equally to Stuart Ings (Porsche Boxster 2.7) who pushed Pete all season to take 2nd in Class and 3rd place in the overall championship behind Pete and Mark Koeberle.

The last 3 Championship races held on the Sunday saw Pete Morris take his first win of the day wile Stu struggled with a failed drive shaft on the opening lap of the 1st tour. Race 2 saw Stuart take a class 2 win wile Pete had to settle for a 5th place finish due to a tangle at Paddock Hill in the early laps. With all drivers having to drop their worst two results of the season it all went down to the final race. Going into race three Stuart Ings had moved ahead of Mark Koeberle for class 2 honours but after dropped points eventually took 3rd place in the championship with two wins at Oulton Park last time out and at Brands earlier in the season wile, Pete Morris was slightly ahead on dropped points with consistent race and class wins throughout the year.

Big Thanks must also go to Pete and Stuart as they had both been instrumental in the development of the EuroCupGT 304 exhaust systems, which had been tested on their 996 Carrera 2 and Boxster race cars retrospectively. The feed back from these tests proved invaluable in the development of the EuroCupGT road car exhaust systems sound efficiency and performance.

The Porsche AFF Trophy challenge endurance race was won from the pit lane by Kruger Cowne father and son duo Mark and Sagan Cowne. After a fairytale qualifying of Pole position against stiff opposition the Parker team found themselves back in the paddock with a burnt out clutch. With only two hours available the team were able to source and fit the new clutch in time for the last race of the day. In Mark's words: "We missed assembly so having got our 1st pole position had to start from the pit lane with no warm up. I got us up to P1 after 16 laps and held it. Sagan went out on lap 21 and kept us there. We Won by 52 seconds against pretty heavy odds"
