Porsche Polizei 964 RSR

Introduction

The idea was to create a road going 964 RSR factory styled car with a modern twist! The body and interior stay faithful to the factory race car model but using up to date materials for strength, weight saving and performance.

Polizei 964 RSRThe car has a fully-welded integral roll cage, carbon fibre roof panel, door mirrors and detailing. Suspension use the Walter Rohrl Bilstien PSS10 fully adjustable coil over units and while the brakes are Disc Brakes Australia GT3 drilled and grooved 2-piece brake discs and GT3 callipers.

Body work is a mixture of steel wide body work and glass fibre panelling to save weight. The car will be fitted up with new lighting and body seals and will sit on a set of Techno Magnesium five spoke rims and Pirelli PZero tyres. A real Nurburgring Attack car with all round practicality so long as you like listening to the engine soundtrack!

Debuted at Autosport International 2013, Birmingham

Autosport for us is all about the glamour, and has always been a good place to showcase new products and interesting cars. That said our organiser Paul Seagrave's brief to me back in October was that the 2013 Club stand would represent Racing, Trackday and Modified road cars (old and new era). The choice then for us was easy for the first two; Nick Tandy's 2011 German Carrera Cup Winning GT3 and Porscheshop's newly developed 997 Turbo EuroCupGT-S. The third car, (964 Polizei) was a little bit more difficult, mainly because it was still a "just painted" a rolling shell in the bodyshop when Paul called!

The chase was now on to get the (still) concept completed, this would require a lot of man hours and dedication to complete, the concept behind the car was to create a road going 964 RSR style track car with a modern twist! The body and interior stay faithful to the factory race car models but using up to date materials for strength and weight saving in things like carbon fibre roof panel, door mirrors and detailing. Using Walter Rohrl designed Bilstein Suspension, Disc Brakes Australia GT3 2-piece Discs and Callipers (all of which had to be adapted to the 964) and finishing it of, the lovely (and period correct) Italian Techno Magnesium five spoke rims and Pirelli PZero tyres. Conclusion; A real Nurburgring attack car with an MOT.
